Chittenden, Murday, & Novotny is a Chicago based law practice who approached Whitney to assist in the transformation of their inherited, dated existing build out into a classic 18th-century English environment. The project was focused on breathing new life into the many existing elements, which in turn yielded a cost savings and a reduced schedule. The project was phased to accommodate CMN’s need to keep their business functioning while living through construction.

Some of the interior enhancements included refinishing the existing wood doors with a darker more sophisticated mahogany stain, implementation of classic textiles and finishes, as well as rework of furniture layouts to enhance the day to day activities of CMN’s legal assistants. The result was a more efficient and updated space appropriate for the legal profession.

The heart of the project was in reconnecting the experience of arrival at the office with the authenticity, comfort, and inspiration of the travel experiences A&K offers.  Layers of material and light in the reception area carefully displayed ancient artifacts in a tastefully understated manor, complimenting the corporate brand.
