JMB Insurance engaged Whitney to accommodate their 100+ staff requirements within the 24,000 sq ft floor space of their Chicago office, while maintaining a sophisticated, contemporary work environment. Private offices were placed inboard, providing fantastic views of Michigan Avenue, as well as allowing an abundance of natural daylight into the open office area.

Whitney was able to integrate the extensive file requirements, typical of an insurance company, while presenting an atmosphere of dark walnut casegoods with polished and brushed stainless steel accents set against a warm color palette. The use of translucent architectural materials throughout the space further enhances the experience by providing an abundance of light which this work environment enjoys.

The heart of the project was in reconnecting the experience of arrival at the office with the authenticity, comfort, and inspiration of the travel experiences A&K offers.  Layers of material and light in the reception area carefully displayed ancient artifacts in a tastefully understated manor, complimenting the corporate brand.
