In celebration of the club’s 100th Anniversary, Midlothian Country Club engaged Whitney to recreate the feel of the original 1898 Colonial Revival clubhouse style into the design of the new clubhouse. Whitney worked with the exterior architect to create an interior that complements the classical style of the architecture while retaining a sense of youth and vibrancy. Like the architects of the 1800’s, Whitney selected color palettes that bring the feel of nature to the interior design, using light, atmospheric greens and golds, accented with camel, olive green, burgundy and plum to create a timeless quality.

Classically styled furniture with clean lines appeal to both younger and older club members, and the selected fabrics contribute to the warmth and charm of the space. Colorful drapery, decorative light fixtures, vibrant artwork, including photography of the original club, and stylish accessories, beautifully complete the updated traditional theme.

The heart of the project was in reconnecting the experience of arrival at the office with the authenticity, comfort, and inspiration of the travel experiences A&K offers.  Layers of material and light in the reception area carefully displayed ancient artifacts in a tastefully understated manor, complimenting the corporate brand.
